A world of positivitity!

"Pads" on the Back mixed templatesFREE “Pads” on the Back™ Templates in 42 languages (so far) by Dr. Jane Bluestein & Lynn Collins, Ph.D.

Download for FREE! (Go directly to the list of languages for your free downloads.)

The same 8 sentence starters in our original pre-printed “Pads” on the Back are now available in a reproducible template you can use to print your own positive statements—as many and as often as you’d like. Choose your own paper and colors and watch faces light up when you share these notes of appreciation!

We know all too well how easy it is to get caught up in negativity and criticism, and that sometimes, just having a concrete reminder can turn this negative focus around. So help yourself to this handy tool to spread your own messages of appreciation and recognition.

With these little notes in hand, you’ll see how easy it is to start noticing and remembering what you appreciate in others. They make it easy to be positive, and serve as reminders that it only takes a few seconds to let the special people in your life know that you value them.

Make as many copies as you want, in any language you can use. Share them wherever you see fit, and encourage others to use them. The only things we ask is that you keep the copyright notice on the page and share these materials for free. If you wish to support this site, your help will be much appreciated.

What you get

The template is a one-page PDF download with eight different message starters for you to complete, including:

It’s nice to know I can count on you for…
A special thank you for…
I haven’t told you lately how much I appreciate…
One of the nicest things about you is…
You have no idea how much you help me when…
Something I really enjoyed doing with you was…
You can feel very proud of yourself for…

Each template is a one-page PDF, 8 1/2” x 11” with eight different messages, with different borders and crop marks for easy cutting. Great gift idea!

Don’t see your language?

We want to cover the world in “Pads” on the Back. If you would like to see us offer a template in your language and would be willing to translate the 8 sentence starters (or know someone who would be willing to translate), please let us know.

Thank you page: A world of thanks to our translators and helpers who have made these free templates possible.

The inspiration: In the mid-1980s, Lynn Collins and I brought out a colorful pad printed with 8 different message starters in 6 rainbow-bright colors. Even though the pages did not initially have sticky-note backing, the construction of these items made it difficult for us to keep the product in production. After numerous reprints and selling thousands of “Pads,” we licensed the rights to produce the pads—as sticky notes—to a distributor who made many changes to the original product and eventually stopped making them. So while the product is out of production, you can still see the original “Pads” on the Back sticky notes in English on this site. (Historical only.)

We’d love to hear from you!

Please tell us how you used these positive messages, and in which language you shared your “pats on the back.”
