What’s the deal with the counter?

This site has averaged over a million hits a year for the past several years. I just switched servers and decided to install a counter on my home page on August 10, 2008. Since I don’t really have an accurate number of visitors to this site since it first launched (in 1997, I believe), I have set the counter to zero and am starting forward from this date, including your visit today.

Regardless of the number of visitors to this site, I’m glad you’re here and hope you can find some information, resources or materials that can help you in your work, you relationships, or your life.
